1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security? It's Time For A National Conversation.

To any Libertarian, this article will not have been hot news. The DHS (Department of Homeland Security) buying 1.6 billion rounds should be astonishing to everyone, but like today's important topics, it is nowhere to be seen on the mainstream news.

Allow me to help you put this into perspective:

The DHS, which is responsible for domestic interventions only (within the U.S. borders, not foreign military operations), has 1.6 billion bullets. Hollow-point bullets, which build up a bulk of the stash, are restricted for use in war by the Geneva Convention. Therefore, they can only be used in the U.S., not to mention 400,000 of these are sniper-specific bullets.

At the height of the Iraq War, approximately 5.5-6 million bullets were used up in a month.

5.5-6 million bullets * 12 months = 66-72 million bullets a year

1.6 billion divided by 66-72 million = roughly 20-22 years of possible war

While it is unlikely the American government is going to be host of a 20-22 year civil war, it is very likely that those bullets are a result of something much bigger. There are roughly 313 million citizens in the country, so if we divided the amount of bullets by the number of citizens, they have about 5 bullets per citizen. If that doesn't frighten you, I don't know what will.

There are 3 things to remember in this topic (yes, they are factual):

#1) The U.S. government has purchased hollow-point bullets, which are specifically designed to kill people!

#2) Gun Control has been the first step to dictatorship in many past totalitarian countries, and the people were deceived to thinking that guns were the problem! (Which is exactly what is happening here...)

#3) While the military servicemen most likely will not want to participate in a tyrannical act, the TSA agents are not bound by any law. There is nothing stopping them from declaring you a "terrorist" and detaining/incarcerating you, as we have seen in so many airports.

I did not write this article for you to just read and shrug it off as another conspiracy. Instead, I will point you in the direction of a few laws and events that have happened recently and will directly benefit ONLY the DHS.

NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) - Allows the indefinite detention of American citizens without fair trial

PATRIOT Act - Allows the government to spy/wiretap anyone they believe is a criminal/terrorist

Rand Paul's Filibuster - A nearly 13-hour protest against drone strikes and drone usage in the U.S., which should be a no-brainer, right? Who wants to be hit by a drone strike while they're sleeping?

These events are why bullets and guns are being purchased at an unprecedented and crazy rate. Americans have stockpiled billions of bullets, AR-15s tripled in value, and the citizens are realizing that their guns are the barrier between freedom and slavery.
