Big Brother is Watching you...

George Orwell's prediction of a government-harbored surveillance state was incorrect on only one account: the year. While there is no way I personally can tell if 1984 had already been a surveillance state,  NSA's PRISM certainly proved 2013 to be one.

First off, I'll give credit to the man who blew the whistle on this one: Edward Snowden. Now taking  refuge in Hong Kong, I'm almost certain that the USA will force China to extradite him and/or drone him (which would have disastrous consequences.) Giving up a job that payed 200,000 FERNs (FEderal Reserve Notes) a year, and a nice home in Hawai'i to reveal that people ARE NOT safe in their homes from unwarranted searches (and possibly seizures) requires some amount of testosterone to do.

The NSA has been caught spying on e-mails and phone calls of basically anyone they want to, from a Supreme Court justice to even the president. This the largest scandal of our day and age to come, and it's been scandal after scandal for the Obama administration. We can expect something to happen to Ed Snowden soon, and we can certainly expect more shit to come out of the Obama Administration.

George Orwell made have been a socialist, but he knew his shit when it came to protecting the people from tyranny by surveillance.

I'm sorry, but

We will NEVER justify the Iraq/Afghanistan (War on Terror).

"Justifications" used
-We killed Al-Qaida
At the expense of 1 million Iraqi's, 5000 US soldiers + another 5000 contractors?
-Avenged the Twin Towers
Again, can you morally justify killing 1 million people for 3 thousand lives?
-They were Muslims, who cares?
You are the reason the world is a shithole.
-Their [the Iraqis] lives are much better with democracy
Right, their "democracy" that causes an average of 1,000 deaths per month.
-You have to support the troops!
I whole-heartedly support them. Not their mission, not the things they've done. The best way to save our troops is to bring them home, not send them off to more wars.

Needed to get this off my chest.

People are waking up to the ideology of Libertarianism

These past few months probably spread Libertarianism faster than any time in history. Whether we gain positive or negative attention does not matter because one day, people will realize there is no left-right paradigm in real life. Government is a quasi-monopoly on violence and force.

The notion that we "need" government to maintain order is absurd. Local villages survive with no government intervention, but rather elders that oversee people and ensure of their well-being peacefully, and free of fraud or coercion.

Government IS a monopoly on force and coercion designed to protect you from force and coercion. Paradoxical, isn't it?

Libertarians come in many colors, from An-caps to Minarchists. I believe government serves no role in the economy other than the original roles the founders placed upon it: to provide for the common welfare (not food stamps!) and general defense.

Every time a "terrorist" attack is placed upon the United States, remember that it was the government that put us in the situation in the first place. If you look at the reasons Al-Qaida attacks us, one of the big reasons is our occupation of Saudi Arabia in the Gulf War. We tear families apart each day.

How would you feel if a country like China occupied the US, and every so often took a family out of their home, killed the father, and jailed the rest? And for every loyal American going to defend their country, the Chinese shut down? Then, for every person who died, 10 more joined the resistance? Flip that around, and you have the war on terror- an unwinnable war.

The last statesman of our time; Dr. Paul

"The last nail is being driven into the coffin of the American Republic. Yet, Congress remains in total denial as our liberties are rapidly fading before our eyes. The process is propelled by unwarranted fear and ignorance as to the true meaning of liberty. It is driven by economic myths, fallacies and irrational good intentions. The rule of law is constantly rejected and authoritarian answers are offered as panaceas for all our problems. Runaway welfarism is used to benefit the rich at the expense of the middle class. Who would have ever thought that the current generation and Congress would stand idly by and watch such a rapid disintegration of the American Republic? Characteristic of this epic event is the casual acceptance by the people and political leaders of the unitary presidency, which is equivalent to granting dictatorial powers to the President."
~ Ron Paul; May, 25, 2011
